To whoever finds this log, my name is Lonely Lion, but you can call me LL if you prefer. You may be wandering what strange portion of the internet you’ve stumbled across to find this page. If you’re here by accident, please accept my apologies for wasting your time. If you are, by chance, interested in the musings of a lonely lion with a passion for art you are welcome to stay.
You may think the name Lonely is oddly fitting but I can assure you it is a family name passed down through generations. That it suits my mood and current state in life is purely a coincidence.
Yes, I am a lion who is lonely. Navigating lionhood is difficult as many other young creatures will know. One day you’re cosy in your den, contemplating what snack to have after dinner. The next you’re paying a small fortune to the parrot down the road to rent a den that wouldn’t fit a baby elephant, while considering the meaning of life and your place in it.
Please don’t tell me about the circle of life. Just because one lion says it, doesn’t mean every lion believes it. Life is not circular from my experience. It’s more akin to bouncing down a cliff face, tail over head. You think you’ve reached the bottom, but you never have. The endless tumble of life.
But I digress. If you’ve found this page and stayed long enough to read this sentence, I might as well tell you the point of all this rambling.
I’ve long held a passion for the creative arts, but I’ve come to the realisation that I’ll never make a career of it by hiding in my den, protecting my art from the often cruel eyes of the world. Know that I spent many years seeking success like this – what a fool!
That is why you and I are meeting like this. I may have agreed to take my art out of my den and offer it to the world, but I’m not going to parade it through the savannah either. The internet offered the best solution I could find. I’ve started a little online shop where you’ll find digital art and printables you can download and re-use time and time again. For now, there is a modest offering available, but if you would like to support new, independent art, I encourage you to have a look. You never know – you might find something perfect for your den or project.
If you’ve reached the end of this post, thank you for your time. I’m hoping to use this blog as a means of communicating with the outside world (or therapy). If there is a particular art collection or printable you’d like to see more of, please let me know. Until next time, I’ll be living the den life, contemplating my fate as a struggling artist and the introvert lifestyle.
Yours
